Ultimate camping luxury at Velofest Cycling Festival, Stage 1 of the Tour de France 2014
If hot showers, sumptuous bedding and flushing loos are non-negotiable for you, your friends and family, then 2014 looks bright. Spectators of Stage 1 of the Tour de France in Yorkshire can enjoy being within touching distance of the riders by day and then sleep in ultimate camping luxury beneath the stars by night. Honeybells, the glamorous camping, or ‘glamping’ company, has launched a VIP Camping village at the Velofest Cycling Festival (3-6 July 2014), Kilnsey Park Estate in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales, a short distance from the Kidstones Pass hill climb on Saturday 5th July.
Spectators can enjoy a day’s racing action and then relax in their spacious canvas bell tent with home comforts such as single and double beds with bedding, full carpet, mirror, doormat, table and indoor and outdoor lighting. Arriving before Saturday mean spectators can avoid disruption from road closures and enjoy the cycling festival’s entertainment offer in full.
The VIP Campsite is located right next to Stage 1 of the Tour de France route and offers car parking, large screens showing live Tour de France footage, public viewing galleries, secure bike storage, hot showers, toilets, catering and bars.
Velofest is perfectly positioned along stage 1 of the Tour de France route at Kilnsey Park Estate in the heart of the Yorshire Dales. The event provides parking for over 2000 vehicles, tiered viewing platforms offering far-reaching views of the peloton, live music, open air cinema, children’s activities, cycle show, corporate hospitality packages, Yorkshire food village and live giant screen action of the race. There will also be guided cycling tours along the Grand Depart route, including the Kidstones Pass Hillclimb for the more adventurous.
Honeybell’s sister company, Campeazy also has pre-pitched 2, and 4 man tents, supplied with, and without beds, from £90 plus pitching fee.
Ross McBay, Honeybells Managing Director says: “Life doesn’t get much better than watching a day’s cycling action and then relaxing in the comfort of your own bell tent under the stars. People value affordable luxury at their favourite events. We pride ourselves in the level of personal service we provide our guests and are on-hand 24/7.”
A four metre tent sleeping two people is £360 for up to three nights, while a five metre, four-person tent is £420. Pitch booking is extra and arranged via Velofest. For more information visit www.honeybells.co.uk
